Court Work & Tribunals

We undertake assessments on behalf of Legal Aid companies representing children and young people going through the Tribunal process and the court system.

We also undertake assessment and will write reports as expert witnesses for parents who are involved in Tribunals on behalf of their children. Since the new EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) system has been in place there is a high demand for converting Statements (the system pre-dating EHCPs) into EHCPs, to ensure students with special needs recieve the appropriate education and educational support from 19-25 years.

We can be approached by the courts or Agencies to assess and report on the child’s abilities and needs. Our areas of expertise include Child Protection, Attachment, Family Difficulties, Children with Learning Disabilities and Fostering & Adoption.

We also work with children who have experienced Domestic Violence, trauma, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). We use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to help children and families to work together to achieve a satisfactory outcome.

Some of our work may be a one-off assessment of a child, or we may suggest a long-term intervention strategy which could take several months of one-to-one work with a child.
